Elevation Art Gallery, Mainspace - A Unique Rocky Mountain Experience Event Space

Christine and Larry's personalities really show in their pictures. They are a sweet, somewhat shy couple who you just can't help but love. It was a touching wedding to remember with loving parents, family and close friends accompanying them on their wedding day. They chose a wonderful location for their wedding ceremony and reception. Elevation Gallery in Canmore has a great event space upstairs called Mainspace (previously The Hive). I encourage anyone looking to hold their intimate Rocky Mountain wedding in a fantastic location to check it out.

I spent many years living in Calgary and many weeks, weekends and days enjoying the beauty of Canmore. I know the area well and it has endless locations to choose from. I have also photographed a number of weddings here and it's one of my favourite locations. Friendly people, spectacular back drops and not having to deal with the hoops and fees that are part of shooting in a national park. (I'm talking Banff 10 minutes up the road which is world renown for it's beauty but has the rules of a national park, because it is one.) For a wedding photographer it doesn't get much better than Canmore.

 

We chose the Canmore Engine Bridge as the first look location. It is a beautiful, iconic structure and it's a little bit hidden. So if you don't know where to look you won't see it. There is no vehicle traffic to contend with and we timed it perfectly with very little foot traffic. We had the area almost completely to ourselves and didn't have to fight crowds or photobombers. What more could you ask for on your Canmore wedding photography session? Or any type of photography session. I would even say it was ideal.

The ceremony was held on an outdoor covered patio with beautiful mountain views. It was a bright summer day and as we know here in the north the sun doesn't go down early in the summer. We had a well lit space to capture many great memories well into the evening. With open spaces meant for congregating, decks with stunning views and inspiring conversation corners in this great wedding venue, everyone enjoyed themselves and the day went off without a hitch. The newlyweds were relaxed and were able to fully enjoy sharing their day with their loved ones.

These are the kinds of beginnings of married life that I wish for all my couples. It was a joy to photograph the beautiful wedding day of this beautiful couple.
